Description
Since their invention in the early 1940’s, Ampwave Defense and its predecessors have been designing and manufacturing helix-type traveling wave tubes for numerous defense applications. These helix-type traveling wave tubes are constructed using the industry standard of metal-ceramic and feature rare-earth periodic permanent magnets for power-free focusing.
Many of the Ampwave Defense tubes are used for electronic countermeasures, radar applications, airborne military platforms, rack mount amplifiers, communications and SatCom systems. For these applications, we have designed our various traveling wave tubes to be conduction cooled for reliable operation in high altitude and temperature environments.
Ampwave Defense offers a variety of CW, pulsed, narrow and wide band TWTs that can be customized to meet specific application requirements. We also create custom tubes for your requirements.

Power Tube Cavity Custom Solutions
For many years, Ampwave Defense has been developing specialized circuitry for power tubes, generally termed u201 cavities, as a result of customer demand.
These cavities are complete RF circuits that are necessary to tune and operate a matching power tube. Each cavity is designed to match a specific tube in order to produce a final high-power amplifier stage for a specific frequency band and service. Each cavity is an essential part of the installation and maintenance operations needed for an Ampwave Defense power tube.
We highly recommend pairing one of our cavities with a recommended matching power tube and can work with you to determine which power tube cavity your application requires.
